Getting Started

Getting Started at Cypess College is easy -- just follow these SIX STEPS :

 

Step 1: Apply 
An online application must be completed by all NEW and RETURNING students.
Step 2: Assessment
Your reading, English and mathematics skills for course success need to be evaluated.
Step 3: Orientation 
NEW students attend a 1.5 hour introduction to the college system.
Step 4: Counseling
CONTINUING and RETURNING students need to see a counselor prior to registration and are strongly advised to do so before the end of the previous semester.
Step 5: Financial Aid
Many students qualify for financial assistance. Visit the Financial Aid section of this website or go to their office located on the 1st floor of the Cypress College Complex.
Step 6: Registration
Online registration is by appointment only and is based on a priority system.

Admissions Applications Underway
 
Registration:  Begins July 20
 
Classes Begin:  August 17; limited additional classes begin the weeks of August 31 and October 19
 
Holidays (campus closed):
Labor Day -- September 7
Veterans Day -- November 9
Thanksgiving -- November 26-29
 
Fall Semester Ends:  December 17
 
Last day to apply for Fall Graduation: September 10
 
Last day to apply for Fall CSU & IGETC Certification: October 15
 
Winter Recess: December 18-January 18
