Getting Started

Getting Started at Cypess College is easy -- just follow these SIX STEPS :

Step 1: Apply: An online application must be completed by all NEW and RETURNING students.
Step 2: Assessment: Your reading, English and mathematics skills for course success need to be evaluated.
Step 3: Orientation: NEW students attend a 1.5 hour introduction to the college system.
Step 4: Counseling: CONTINUING and RETURNING students need to see a counselor prior to registration and are strongly advised to do so before the end of the previous semester.
Step 5: Financial Aid: Many students qualify for financial assistance. Visit the Financial Aid section of this website or go to their office located on the 1st floor of the Cypress College Complex.
Step 6: Registration: Online registration is by appointment only and is based on a priority system.

Registration: Begins July 20

Classes Begin: August 17; limited additional classes begin the weeks of August 31 and October 19

Holidays (campus closed):

Labor Day -- September 7
Veterans Day -- November 9
Thanksgiving -- November 26-29

Fall Semester Ends: December 17

Last day to apply for Fall Graduation: September 10

Last day to apply for Fall CSU & IGETC Certification: October 15

Winter Recess: December 18-January 18
